Church’s Pond, at an elevation of 8,290 ft is about 2,400′ below the summit of Mt. Rose, south of Reno, NV. This small snow-melt pond nearly disappears in some dry years, late in the summer. The drone allows a point of view directly above the lake, the only position where its shape and the glacial dam that created it may be seen.
