When leapfrog development threatened a tract of private land adjacent to BLM-managed rangeland north of Reno, the Sierra Club and other environmental organizations sought to convey the site’s scenic value to the community. The drone’s depiction of the Marshall Ranch and the adjacent Winnemucca Valley uplands will assist in that effort.
